We haven't started restoring this yet.
As is: $113, taxes included.
Restored: $350 taxes included.
Restore to suit you unless we get to it first.
If we do, the plan is to strip it, repaint it the same yellow colour (hoping the track down some original or copied stickers), regress everything was we reassemble it, steel wool to all the chrome, replace the saddle with original style banana seat, sparkle grips (yellow or lime?), vintage bell.
As for tires, two thoughts. A) put a slick on the rear (20 x 2 Schwinn tire) and a city 20 x 1.75 on the front or, (B) lime green 20 x 2.4's to match grips.
Never heard of Ross Bikes?
Me neither. Imagine my surprise when I read it's history
Edited from Ross Bicycles website:
The company started in 1940 as “Ross Galvanizing Works”. When World War II ended, Albert Ross wanted to pursue his passion for cycling and start manufacturing bicycles. He started producing and designing the best bicycles he possibly could. From 1946-1960, all types of wheeled goods and products were manufactured.
Ross would introduce the first-ever mass-produced mountain bike. While who invented the mountain bike will always be debated, the record shows Randy Ross and his team at Ross were the first to ever mass-produce the mountain bike.
Randy Ross, the 3rd generation of the Ross bicycle family had a vision to build big-wheeled bicycles. The whole cycling industry; including his father who ran the company before him, thought he was crazy and that big-wheeled bicycles wouldn’t work.
Ross Bicycles is now being run by the fourth generation of the Ross family and has manufactured over 20 million bicycles.
